Motherland brings together the landscapes, architecture, and decorative traditions of Iran in a layered reflection on heritage and belonging. It opens Places & Memories with Tara’s country of birth: she was born in Tehran, Iran, in 1990.

Each piece begins as a print and is extensively worked by hand over several weeks. Layers of painted embellishment and carefully developed detail give the surface depth and individual character, before a mica-infused resin finish adds luminosity and a shimmer that shifts with the light.

The collection traces places Tara has visited and lived in that continue to inspire her art, including Alicante, Spain, where she grew up, Laguna Beach, and other meaningful destinations. Motherland is presented here as an example of the series. Custom commissions in different sizes are welcome; pricing and creation timelines are discussed individually.
